SOSI Need to Write a Doctoral Dissertation

Do the words doctoral dissertation fill you with dread—or even fear? If so, you’re not alone. You’re an expert in your area of research, but you’re probably not an expert in writing, so the idea of composing a dissertation of 100+ pages likely feels daunting. That’s why I’m here to help.

I’ve edited more than 150 dissertations, so I know how to help you achieve the goal of putting “Dr.” in front of your name. I’m well versed in all of the major research methods and designs, the main style guides (APA, CMOS, etc.), and the other aspects of writing a doctoral dissertation. So, you’re likely unfamiliar with how to successfully complete a dissertation, but I’m not. And I’m here to help make the process as smooth and easy as possible for you.

How I Can Help You

I know how challenging writing a dissertation can be. I also know that a lot of dissertation committees don’t provide much guidance and mentoring on how to write a dissertation. They simply point out issues after you’ve finished drafting the document—and they don’t always explain how to fix the problems. How frustrating!

I want to help you succeed, and that’s why I offer the following options:

  • I can coach you through the writing process (teaching you best practices in writing a dissertation).
  • I also offer consulting services to help you determine, for example, which design and data collection method are best for achieving the goals of your study.
  • When you’ve written some or all of your content, I would be happy to edit it for you to ensure it’s crystal clear, with correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. I’ll also format your dissertation—including the reference list!—according to your university’s specifications and the required style manual’s guidelines. I’ll also create the table of contents for you so you don’t have to hassle with that task for an hour or more.

With my help, you’ll resolve issues before you submit your dissertation for committee and university approval, so you’ll save time and finish faster.

If you’ve already submitted your dissertation for approval and gotten feedback about issues that need to be fixed, it’s not too late to turn to me for assistance. I can help you understand how to address the feedback, and I can even fix any grammar and formatting issues for you.

End Result: Adding “Dr.” Before Your Name

Though I won’t write the dissertation for you, I’ll be with you during every step of the process, helping you avoid the common pitfalls that delay approval of your dissertation. When you receive final approval from the dissertation committee and university, I’ll be celebrating with you.

If you’re ready to conquer the doctoral dissertation challenge, contact me today! It may be the best decision you make during your doctoral journey.

From Dissertation to Book

After you finish your dissertation, you’ll likely be ready for a much-needed break. After you’ve had some time to recover, you might wonder what you should do with your dissertation now. Considering how much effort and time you put into it, it would be a shame to simply let it remain a file on your computer and in a university’s dissertations database.

But what other options are there? One great choice is to turn your dissertation into a book that you self-publish on Amazon or that you shop to traditional publishing houses for publication. A book has greater visibility than a dissertation does, can help you further establish your credibility and authority in your field, and can also be a secondary source of income.

I’ve helped multiple authors transform their dissertations into books, and I’d love to help you do the same. If you want to know what’s involved, contact me so we can discuss the process and how I can help.
